Venice Carnival 2020


Every year Venice Carnival is held in the Italian city of Venice in February.The theme of the carnival in Venice 2020: "Il Gioco, l'amore e la Follia" (can be translated as "Game, love, and madness"). It's a grand affair. Here’s all you need to know about the Venice Carnival 2020!

The History
The event is as old as more than 850 years, which was then started to honor the victory of Venice becoming a republic after the decline of the Roman Empire. It was held for the first time in the 11th century but was stopped in the 18th century and again brought to life in 1979. Today, everyone in the world has heard about the event. Every year many tourists get attracted and visit this festival.

About The Carnival
Venice Carnival 2020 is 17 days of celebrations with masks, fun and famous masquerades.

Venice Carnival Masks and Its Beauty
One of the major elements of the carnival is the Venetian masks. There are two types of masks worn by people in the carnival; 
Bauta -Bauta mask covers the entire face
Colombina.-A Colombina mask is a trimmed version of the bauta mask, as it covers only the eyes, nose and upper cheekbones leaving the rest of the face exposed.

What should we avoid travelling Italy in 2020?

Italy is called the Holy Grail of tourism. It is a mesmerizing country, right from culture to history, from nature to art, from food to religion, from fashion to modern industry, Italy has it all. 
If you have planned to take delight in the scenic beauty and warm culture, here are some handy things to be avoided in Italy in 2020.


  • Italy is full of narrow pathways and coastlines to which people often fail taking account of pathless routes. Don't rely completely on smartphones for directions as it might lead you in trouble.
  • Avoid heading to overtouristed spots in peak season. If you are in an overtouristed city of Italy, seek out its less-crowded sites.
  • It’s important to validate your train ticket before getting on board.
  • You are recommended to avoid touristy restaurants as they are expensive. The restaurants in and around popular spots like the Colosseum are quite expensive.
  • Be aware of warm strangers at the tourist places. You should not accept gifts from strangers on the street.
  • Don't solely rely on cards, It is recommended to keep some cash as a backup option in a case where card payments are not accepted, such as stalls, markets, and small eateries and restaurants.
  • When you are in Italy have authentic Italian food. Avoid junk food and stay connected to the local food.
  • You can quench your thirst at drinking fountains as the water is drinkable. You don't need to buy water.
  • The majority of the cities in Italy are 100% walking cities, so be prepared to walk and bring good and comfortable shoes.
  • As a part of your eco-friendly  Italy tour observe the locals, you will never find them walking with a paper cup of coffee in their hands. You are advised to have your’s at the bar instead.
